Emperor Akbar once asked Birbal to find a man who is noblest and lowest at the same time. Birbal agreed to the task and went out in his search of such a man.
After some time, he entered the court with a beggar. The beggar was wearing torn clothes and had unkempt hair and body. He looked like he did not eat properly for many days.
Birbal presented him to Akbar, saying, “Hujoor, this beggar is one of the lowest in wealth in your kingdom.”
Akbar said, “Ok. but how is he noblest?”
Birbal replied, “Jahapanah, someone who meets an Emperor is definitely a noble man.” He is the noblest beggar in your kingdom.
