Once Akbar asked Birbal, “Birbal, can you tell me how many bangles are there in your wife’s hand?” Birbal replied, “Hujoor, I don’t remember.”
Surprised, Akbar said, “Every day you see your wife’s hand. Still, you don’t know how many bangles she wears?”
Birbal kept quiet. After some time, he requested Akbar to accompany him to the royal garden. As they entered the garden, Birbal asked, “Jahapanah, do you know how many stairs you climbed down to enter your garden?”
Akbar smiled and understood the reason behind this question.
